1984 BMW 635 CSI with 102K miles. It is the "Grey Market" import with the slick Euro Bumpers. This vehicle, according to the specs, has the 10:1 High Compression Motor and the 3:09 Final Drive gear ratio. Runs rough and needs a bit of work, too many projects and The Shark has to go. It is licensed through 7/2005. I have had it for about 1 year and have done the following: Oil/Filter Trans Oil/Filter Replaced Trans Mounts - BavAuto Replaced Diff Top Mount - BavAuto Replaced Center Bearing Mount - BavAuto Replaced Starter - Parts Plus Mechanical Needs: o - Door Hinges o - Drivers Side Door Lock Does not work with key. It locks fine but I unlock with trunk. o - Drivers Side Seat Belt Clasp Cover. o - Temp Sending Unit - Reads Correctly but Overheat Light always on even at start up. The gauge needle has an intermittant problem with not working. o - Leak at power steering pump where power line connects. o - Brake Lining Light stays on but the pads are in good order. o - The ABS unit was removed by the previous owner but I have the CPU. Misc Rattles... The story of the vehicle is that it was purchased in Saudi Arabia and has what is called the "Gulf Package". I am not 100% clear what that means but I figure the cooling system is of a larger displacement. When the temp gauge worked right it never seemed to reach the 1/2 way point. It was "federalized" in 1988 when the original owner brought it to Texas via cargo ship carrier, of which I have the all paperwork and correspendence. What is interesting is that even though the receipt from a shop in Texas showing roughly 4-5K worth of work, none of it is present (i.e. no emission pump etc..) It was sold to me from the second owner who had the front end completely rebuilt of which I have the receipts. It has 15inch Allesio Wheels that are in fair shape.
